This site is a tribute to Sonia Weston, who was born in Southampton on December 22, 1959.
Sonia’s 18-month battle with brain cancer ended with her passing away very peacefully at home with the family in the evening of Wednesday 9th June.
I am amazed at Sonia’s drive and determination over the last year or so to do everything she could to remain fit and able to enjoy the things she loved. Despite the Covid lockdowns, we did a lot of walking in beautiful countryside, made numerous visits to our favourite seaside – Dunwich Heath, had short breaks away in the Peak District, Aldeburgh, Brighton, Scarborough and a lovely family holiday in Cornwall. In Brighton Sonia even did a zip line just before Christmas. We also visited museums, galleries, theatre, cinema and Sonia bottle fed a new born lamb at Wimpole Hall farm.
It has been brilliant to share this last year and make so many new memories. I shall sorely miss my gorgeous darling as being with her for the last 38 years has truly enriched my life. But at least I am left with two marvellous boys, Ollie and Matt, who are and always have been a massive credit to their dear mum who was always so proud of them.
